Adult Vocal Choirs

Chancel Choir
Drawing from a wide variety of musical styles and genres, the Chancel Choir leads music weekly at the traditional 9AM worship service on Sunday mornings. The choir also sings in the 10:30AM worship service every 4 to 6 weeks. The Chancel Choir is open to all 9th grade through adult singers, regardless of prior musical experience.

The Praise Choir
The Praise Choir offers special music at our 10:30AM blended worship service on Sunday mornings. This group is scheduled to sing in worship every 5-6 weeks.

Silver Notes
The Silver Notes is a diverse choir which brings the gift of music to local nursing homes during the week. A love of singing (and kazoo-ing!), and sharing fellowship through music, is all that is required to join!

Worship Team
The Worship Team includes both vocalists and instrumentalists, and leads music at our 10:30AM blended service each Sunday morning. Because of the unique structure of the group and the nature of the music they present each week, participation in the group requires a musical consultation with the team leader.

Adult Instrumental Groups

The Handbell Choir
The Handbell Choir practices each wee, and provides music for worship approximately once every 4-6 weeks. In addition, the choir occasionally plays for special worship services and accompanies our vocal choirs. The group is open to beginning ringers as well as those with prior experience.

Instruments in Worship
The Worship Arts ministry encourages instrumentalists in our congregation to share their musical gifts. Ensembles are occasionally formed to play with the vocal groups, or for special occasions. Solo opportunities are available as well. Dust off that instrument sitting in your closet and join in the fun!

Children's Ensemble

Joyful Noise! Choir
Music is a wonderful gift to give your child! The Joyful Noise! choir sings in worship every 5-6 weeks, and occasionally at special events. We meet weekly during the year to sing and play our praises to God. Proper singing and vocal production, counting skills, and teamwork are emphasized in practice. We play Orff instruments (xylophones and percussion), handchimes, and sing. Our choir is designed to be an active, fun, and rewarding experience for our singers. Regular weekly attendance is stronly encouraged in order to ensure preparation and confidence in our young singers.

Media Ministry

Audio and Visual Ministry
In addition to our active music groups, the Audio Ministry is a wonderful way to become involved with the Worship Arts at Leawood UMC. The Audio Ministry is responsible for providing audio services for both worship services on Sunday morning, in addition to the production of tapes & CD's of the services. The is opportunity for expansion into visual ministry as well. Training will be provided for those interested in this important ministry.
