Leawood UMC Covid-19 Protocols
We are a community, and share in the burden of caring for one another and keeping our community safe.
To assess community levels of COVID-19, the CDC uses a formula that looks at new COVID-19 hospital admissions in the past 7 days, the percent of staffed inpatient beds occupied by COVID patients, and total new cases. Counties are categorized as either low, medium, or high. See the recommended prevention behaviors for all levels at their website: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/science/community-levels.html. Johnson County is currently classified as HIGH based on these criteria.
This means that, according to CDC guidelines, masks are now recommended for all public, indoor activities, regardless of vaccination status. Leawood UMC does not require masking, but strongly encourages their use. (If you are working with children under the age of 2, we require that masks be worn.)
Below are other safety protocols developed for our gatherings.
Please practice social distancing as best as possible.
Those with cold/flu symptoms (coughing, runny nose, elevated temperature, headache, body aches) should worship from home. We would love for you to join us online!
Those with recent known Covid exposure should follow CDC guidelines and worship from home if necessary.
If you are unvaccinated or in a vulnerable group, we recommend that you consider joining us online for worship.
